As wood is burned in the ﬁreplace, room air enters

the ﬁreplace through its “cool air inlet”, circulates

around the ﬁrebox, and exits the ﬁreplace through its

“warm air outlet.” See Figure 2. This air circulation

cools the ﬁrebox.

HOW THIS FIREPLACE WORKS

Do not block or restrict air

circulation in any manner.

Blocking or restricting

the air ﬂow will cause the

ﬁrebox to reach hazardous

temperatures.

The fireplace will go

through a curing process

(burning off oil residue,

etc.) the ﬁrst few times it

is ﬁred. Smoke and fumes

may be emitted from its

upper grille. Open a door

or window to let any

smoke or fumes escape

during curing period.
