Firebox framing can be built before or after the appliance is set in place.
Construct firebox framing following Figures 8 through 14 on pages 9 and
10
and the chart to the right and on page 10 for your specific installation
requirements. Refer to Figure 1 on Page 5 for firebox dimensions. The
framing headers may rest on the top of the firebox standoffs.
The firebox may be installed directly on a combustible floor or raised on
a platform of an appropriate height. Do not place firebox on carpeting,
vinyl, or other soft floor coverings. It may, however, be placed on a flat
wood, plywood, particle board, or other hard surfaces. Be sure firebox rests on a solid continuous floor or platform with
appropriate framing for support so that no cold air can enter room from under the firebox.
Note: Make sure a minimum 19" is between the studs (A).
